So as an introduction as to what this is all about, I am off on a life changing Adventure, to experience and travel the less trodden lands of the regular wonderer. The whole idea of the motorbike is a means to get off the beaten track and enter the wild lands of this world. I am up for the experience, the experience to meet, be and feel the landscapes and cultures from so many different countries across my general rout that you can see on the map to the left.
What does all this entail physically, well lets just say the good times and the hard times. Its not an easy thing to do, and by ones self even more challenging on the mental level. Im certainty not going to return as the man that everyone knows me as today. This is an epic adventure on so many levels. Me and my motorbike currently going through a state of metamorphosis (you shall see soon) will endure something like 30,000 miles to cross from the UK to Australia. We (me and the motorbike who name is currently evolving) are good sprits and shall make it home alive with hearts as wide as the worlds.
The rout goes something like this: London to Scotland, Holland, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Macedonia, Albania, Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bangladesh, across to the Andaman Islands to Phuket in Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia (I will try my best to get across to Sarawak and Borneo to then get down into the Indonesian Islands and Island hop to East Timor to ship me and my bike from Dili to Darwin to a spacial place I call home. Weee, alot of countries once I put it like this. Anyhow thats something like the general rout or direction I will be taking. As you all probably know Im a bit of a free spirit and like to follow the groove so I am also open to plans and ideas changing because once one is on the groove anything can happen.
As for those who like to know about motorbikes, I have chosen my machine
as an endurance machine, a machine that I can trust and know that we will be together through the good times and the tough times for many years to come. I see my motorbike as almost like the Mountain Banshees or the Ikran that the Na'vi have in Avatar, but probably with out such a strong more natural connection. So my Motorbike to the human world is called a Honda XRV750 Africa Twin, Its like one of those enduro machines, great on the road but able to endure the harsh conditions off the tarmac. She feels great and thanks to all who have helped me at the XRV winter maintenance day in the warehouse and especially to Whealie in London for your help on my machine. I've got a good hold of the reigns now. Cheers to all.
So this is what she/he looks like.
